Showcasing creativity and exploring heritage – the Cultart Applied Arts Program reached an exciting milestone on Day 5, as participants showcased their collaborative work and explored the rich artistic heritage of Skopje.

The day’s agenda highlighted the program’s emphasis on fostering creativity, cultural exchange, and artistic innovation.

The events were hosted at the Multimedia Center “Mala stanica”, a vibrant hub for contemporary arts situated in Skopje. Known for its dynamic exhibitions and modern facilities, the venue provided the perfect setting for participants to present their creative projects. The presentations delved into three thought-provoking case studies:

Transforming the Macedonian Center for Photography into a Museum of Photography – This group explored the possibilities of enhancing the Center’s cultural and artistic significance by developing it into a full-fledged museum.

The Use and Misuse of Artificial Intelligence in Photography – Participants examined the ethical, creative, and technical implications of AI in modern photography, sparking a discussion on innovation versus integrity.

Digitalizing Old Photographs and Photographic Materials – A focus on preserving historical and cultural artifacts through digitalization, ensuring their accessibility for future generations.

Following the case study presentations, feedback sessions, and in-depth discussions, participants were honored with a Certificate of Attendance recognizing their dedicated efforts during the Applied Arts training in Skopje, North Macedonia. They received heartfelt praise from keynote speakers, the project team, and guests at the concluding event of the Photography training.

Day 5 of the Cultart Applied Arts Program seamlessly blended contemporary creativity with historical appreciation, reflecting the program’s mission to unite artistic vision and cultural heritage. Participants left inspired by Skopje’s rich tapestry of history and innovation, eagerly anticipating the program’s upcoming activities.

Following the presentations, participants embarked on a visit to the National Gallery of Macedonia, Cifte Hamam, an architectural masterpiece that dates back to the Ottoman era. Located in Skopje’s Old Bazaar, Cifte Hamam stands as a testament to the city’s historical and cultural wealth. Originally built as a bathhouse in the 15th century, the building now serves as one of the National Gallery’s exhibition spaces, showcasing remarkable works of art that bridge past and present.
